The Honorable Sandra Miller of Paulding County Juvenile Court will deliver a presentation designed to examine concurrent planning as a tool for balancing the needs and rights of the biological family with the child's need for timely permanency.  Federal and state law and agency policy support concurrent planning but the practice has not been widely or consistently implemented in Georgia.  The components and benefits of concurrent planning will be discussed to facilitate a greater understanding of this practice.
